But I'm still discovering all the possible techniques, trying to figure out which techniques are useful and which are not. Here's the another thing: the larger project to do, the more techniques from each diagram you'll probably use. I think in a project of any size will definitely be an idea brief or (at least) a quick-n-dirty wireframe. I’ve applied a few of them recently (e.g. wireframes, mood boards and idea sessions).
